There is such a vast amount of medical information on the internet now that finding what you want can be extremely difficult. I have put together some of the sites that I think might be of interest to patients along with a few favourite sites of my own. links

General sites for health information    There are many sites offering lists and indexes of medical information. These are probably the most useful ones:
  • NHS Direct - you know the telephone advice line. This is the web site.
  • Patient.co.uk - excellent information about health issues from mostly UK sites. You can now search their database directly from this site by using the box below. Some nice patient information leaflets.
  • Medical Matrix - another big database of medical information with an American slant
  • Medexplorer - a large Canadian database
  • Virtual Hospital - USA again. Lots of useful medical information and some good links
  • Doctor's Guide - Medical News, patient information, internet medical resources etc.
  • Medsite - good search facility for medical information.
