When We Are Closed
In an emergency, a Doctor can always be contacted by telephoning the surgery number, Ripon 692337 (24 hrs). Your call will be re-routed to the doctor on call.
When closed the practice is covered by the Out Of Hours Doctors. This is the local system of fully trained GPs coordinated from the HQ in York (Tel: 0845 056 8060).
The telephonist will take your details and pass them on to the doctor on call who will ring you back. Please telephone rather than just turn up at Ripon Hospital unless you have a minor injury. The minor injuries unit is staffed by nurse practitioners 8 am -9 pm
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
